Governance

The Sheffield College is a Further Education Corporation under the Further and Higher Education Act 1992. It was incorporated on 1 April 1993, soon after the City Council’s merger of Sheffield’s six FE colleges into The Sheffield College.

The college’s primary constitutional document is its Instrument and Articles of Government [22 page PDF file].

Our Search, Remuneration and Governance Committee is responsible for making recommendations on new appointments to the Governing Body. As and when vacancies arise we issue a public call for expressions of interest. If you would like us to hold an expression of interest on file for future consideration, you are welcome to download this Expression of Interest form [4 page PDF file], complete it, and send it by email to alison.shillito@sheffcol.ac.uk. All such expressions of interest will be acknowledged.

The Sheffield College is currently seeking to appoint two new governors. Here is the advertisement and role specification [3 page PDF file].

If you would like to be considered,  please download, complete and return an Expression of Interest form as above by 8/11/2018.

How to complete and return the Expression of Interest form

Please download the Expression of Interest form above. You will need to use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to open the file - this will allow you to enter your details directly into the form. 

Once you have completed the form, save a local copy to your computer. You can then submit this either via email, or by post (details can be found on the EOI form).

If you are submitting your application by email please ensure that you include your full name in the covering email. If you are emailing a saved completed form to us we will treat your covering email as your signature, in which case please simply put your name in the signature field, followed by the words ‘sent by email’. Alternatively, you may print the form, sign it and then either post us a hard copy of the signed form or email us a scanned version of the signed form.
