If you have a passion for food and the preparation of high quality menus from the freshest of ingredients then this role will interest you. We are seeking an apprentice to assist the chef with the preparation of the extensive menus which include a variety of high quality hot and cold food dishes.
4 x GCSE Grade A*-D English & Maths or equivalents
If you are suitable for this role, to work in a kitchen environment, meeting challenging deadlines and working unsociable hours at times; then you will have the opportunity to train to Commis Chef level and attend the Sheffield College within a Professional Cookery Apprenticeship Programme.
You will be hardworking, trustworthy, enthusiastic and motivated. You must be able to work calmly under pressure and be capable of multi - tasking.
Daily tasks will include:
Assist chef in preparation of the menu across all service times - with the cooking of hot and cold food dishes
Kitchen housekeeping – general hygiene, food safety and cleaning down and pot washing.
Working as a team member to maintain the very highest standards of the business.
You will study through a minimum 12-18 month intermediate apprenticeship programme.
Responsible to Chef and Operations Manager.

Daytime and evening hours with weekend working
1 day per week at Sheffield College - City Campus
You must have a keen and developing interest in the food industry and menu preparation.
You will need to be highly organised.
You must be able to work calmly under pressure and be capable of multi tasking.
A reasonable degree of manual dexterity is required.
You will be hardworking, trustworthy, enthusiastic and motivated.
You will need to be able to work in a busy environment while maintaining a calm, positive attitude.

Level 2 Professional Cookery or Commis Chef Apprentice Standard
The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies
