Working front of house requires a person with a sharp eye for detail and a problem solving nature. Typically, a person working front of house will enjoy the company of guests and will assist in delivering the standard operating procedure of the brand.
Minimum of 4 x GCSE or equivalent A-C grades including English and Maths
The manager will expect a front of house to have a thorough knowledge of the food and drinks menu as well as allergens, hazards, current marketing promotions and will be expected to deliver on brand standards at all times.
Reporting to the General Manager, duties will include:
Understanding the layout and operational flow of the restaurant
Being able to communicate clearly with customers following the 10 steps of service
Being able to communicate with bar and kitchen staff in a professional and efficient manner
Having a full knowledge of the food and wine menus and be able to describe any given item to a guest
Understand and be able to advise on allergens
To accommodate the needs of a guest wherever possible i.e. special requests or special needs.
To communicate complaints immediately to the duty manager
Fully cooperate with the management team
Cleaning and maintenance of the work station, section and digital equipment
Assist the host/hostess with answering the phone when he/she is unavailable
Maintenance of service stations including the stocking of condiments
Serve items as prepared by Chef’s and upon Chef’s orders
Inform guests of daily/weekly specials
Upsell menu items such as drinks and side dishes
Understand and implement security procedures regarding money, guest safety and unwelcome persons.
30 Hours Mon-Sun between 8am-11:30pm
Meticulous and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interact well with others in a cross functional environment.
Resourceful, result-oriented and strong sense of responsibility with initiative.

Hospitality Team Member Standard
The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
