Apprentice Chef Assistant

A role with realistic opportunity to learn multiple skills across food preparation for the kitchen facility of this newly refurbished pub – part of the Bradfield Brewery group.
The candidate must display eagerness and interest to work within a kitchen environment – preparing food items to menu from small, walk- in orders to event and busy functions.


Qualifications Required

GCSE Grade A*-D or numerical equivalents in English Language and Maths


Full Description

Reports to the Senior Chef
Duties will include:
Preparation of food productions areas
Observe food hygiene regulations
Learn and develop knowledge of menu items – from fast casual pub grub through to more refined multiple course menus
Prepare food to menu request in a timely fashion
Manage stock
Clean down kitchen after service
Develop knowledge of food allergens
Assist with menu compilation
Assist in other hospitality areas of the pub where required at times:
Bar
Event Catering
Front of House


Working Week

Mon-Sunday 5 days from 7
40 Hours initially
Earliest 10.00am – latest 9pm

£4.20 per hour or National minimum wage for age group

College attendance – 1 day per month at Sheffield College – City Campus


Other Information

The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.90 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies
