Apprentice Paint Refinishing Technician

We are looking to appoint a Apprentice Paint Refinishing Technician to work and train within a busy vehicle repair and restoration company.


Qualifications Required

Must have a minimum of 3 GCSE’s at grade D or above for level 2, including English and Maths (or equivalent).


Full Description

Apprentice Paint Refinishing Technician to train/work alongside existing skilled staff in the workshop.

Will report to the workshop controller or manager daily.

In addition to training and assisting in the workshop you will carry out general housekeeping duties.

You will mainly work as part of a workshop team carrying out various duties.

Duties will include panel preparation for the paint process, primer/top coat application and fault rectification.

Additional duties will include Panel strip/fit, filler repair.


Working Week

37.5 Hours Monday to Friday

Future Prospects

Progress on to a level 3 Paint Refinishing qualification (21 months).
Become a skilled and valued member of the workshop team.


Training to be Provided

Level 2 Diploma in accident Paint Refinishing competences (practical competences)
Level 2 Diploma in accident Paint Refinishing principles (theory and exams)
Level 1 Functional skills (Maths, English and ICT) if required


Other Information

From the 1st October 2016, the National Minimum Wage (NMW) for apprentices aged 16-18, and those aged over 19 who are in the first year of their Apprenticeship, is set at £3.40 per hour. The NMW applies to time working and time spent training as this is also part of the Apprenticeship. Anyone not covered by the age categories above will be entitled to the NMW appropriate to their age.

A high level of attention to detail and quality is also expected at all times.

Must be 100% sure of the travelling involved to the company based in S3 and The Sheffield College in S2.
