Plumbing Level 2 Diploma

This course will allow you to develop existing skills and give you the underpinning knowledge required to develop a wide range of skills including installation, commissioning and maintenance.

You will need to bring your own overalls and safety boots for workshop sessions. All other safety equipment will be provided. You need to attend regularly and be on time for every lesson. Your progress will be reviewed regularly in tutorial sessions.

• Scientific Principles in Plumbing

• Common Plumbing Processes

• Cold Water Systems

• Domestic Hot Water Systems

• Sanitation

• Central Heating Systems

• Drainage Systems

As well as learning about health and safety and how to communicate with others.

The course is approximately 50% theory and 50% practical.

Functional Skills lessons also form an important part of your course. They include Maths, English and ICT to help you improve your skills in these areas.

Personal Study Time

Students are expected to work independently on project work away from the college.

Entry Requirements

  • Level 1 Plumbing Diploma and a minimum of Entry 3 Functional Skills

There will be a multiple choice test on each unit.

Where can it lead?

You can progress into the level 3 Plumbing course or into employment in the construction industry or onto an apprenticeship.
