This course will help prepare you for further study at Level 1.
You will need to bring your own safety boots, wood working tools for workshop sessions and classroom equipment for theory sessions. All other equipment will be provided.
Theory lessons covering the required technology are classroom based, giving you the opportunity for taking notes to aid your studies. Practical lessons take place in the Carpentry and Joinery workshops and give you the opportunity to develop the skills needed to pass the assessments.

There are no formal entry requirements but those in education are expected to complete their current learning programme. You will be asked to complete an assessment of your maths and English skills at interview to help decide which level of study is right for you.
There will be a formal assessment when you are ready. Your progress will be reviewed regularly in tutorial sessions.

Personal Study Time:
Students are expected to study independently in their own time, building up their knowledge of brickwork. You will be given your own password to access our online learning materials, we have a comprehensive learning centre to aid your learning.
