The Level 1 qualification is the first step towards developing your cake decoration skills. The course is designed for people who want to pursue cake decoration on either a commercial basis or for personal pleasure.

The majority of the course is practical covering;

  • Basic royal icing
  • Sugar paste techniques
  • Marzipan modelling
  • Small cakes and biscuits
  • You will produce a portfolio of your work that includes your designs, drawings, research, written work and photographs
