Ideally, prospective students will have completed a Level 1 Cake Decorating qualification or have some evidence of former experience (e.g. other qualifications or private courses/tuition). 
 
 

Cake Decorating Level 2 Module 2: Novelty Cakes

This unit builds on existing skills and enables learners to develop the design, practical construction skills and theoretical underpinning to produce a novelty cake.


About the Course

This unit builds on existing skills and enable learners to develop the design, practical construction skills and theoretical underpinning to produce a novelty cake.


The learner will produce a saleable, creative/imaginative novelty cake using the techniques listed below. 


Learners will also identify the correct methods of storing of prepared icing and finished product and be made aware of current health, safety and hygiene legislation.
