This unit will enable students to learn basic skills in using sugar paste to decorate cakes. As well as learning to create shapes and ice whole cakes you will also be taught how to store your sugar paste creations and develop your knowledge of relevant health and safety.
This unit enables learners to coat and decorate both with round and square cakes in sugar paste using various techniques:
The learner will identify the correct methods of storing of prepared icing and finished product and be made aware of current health, safety and hygiene legislation. The unit is aimed at beginners, and there are lots of hints and tip to coat and decorate cakes to a saleable finish.
Student may wish to progress on to a Level 2 module on completion of this unit.
