At level 3 you will develop the joinery skills you have already learnt allowing you to manufacture complex joinery products.
You will need to bring your own safety boots, wood working tools for workshop sessions and classroom equipment for theory sessions. All other equipment will be provided.
The course is designed for people who wish to extend their occupational skills and trade knowledge to a high level of competence. The practical activities are challenging and stimulating, involving work of a highly specialist nature.
You will study first and second fix components as well as general workplace safety and how to develop and maintain good working relationships. Approximately 40% of the course is theory and 60% is practical.
Functional Skills lessons also form an important part of your course. They include maths and English to help improve your skills in these areas.
Your progress will be reviewed regularly in tutorial sessions. You need to attend regularly and be on time for every lesson.
Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery Diploma and a minimum of level 1 Functional Skills
Your theoretical knowledge will be assessed by an online exam and unit tests. Your practical skills will be assessed by practical tests and a practical exam.
Career opportunities include working in the construction industry.
