Creative Media TV and Digital Production Level 2

The Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology has been designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to progress to further study and training in a range of media related subjects. The course includes units in video production, audio production, interactive media and a final major project.

Successful completion of this course including good attendance, punctuality and tutor recommendation, will lead to one of our Creative Media level 3 courses or other appropriate courses within the college. Future employment opportunities could include working as an apprentice on the Advanced Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Production.

What will I learn?
The qualification is made up of eight units, which you must successfully complete. All units relate to the creative media sector and are delivered through a variety of practical projects. You will be assessed via a ‘Final Major Project’ (Unit 8), which takes place at the end of the course when you are at your best. This project will allow you to demonstrate the skills and knowledge that you have gained throughout completion of  units 1 to 7. Unit 8 is graded Pass, Merit or Distinction and will determine your final grade for the course.


What else will I gain?
As part of this course you will improve your communication skills, team work, problem solving and develop independent learning techniques. On your programme you will also study for English and Maths qualifications if you do not already hold a minimum GCSE grade C.

You will have access to purpose built facilities including a TV studio, video and audio suites and professional production equipment. Creative Media courses are assessed entirely on course work.

Extra Costs

There is a £25 studio fee to help with the maintenance of equipment you will be using throughout the course. This fee also helps to subsidise trips.


The purchase of a portable hard drive compatible with Apple Mac computers is advisable but not essential.
