There are no formal entry requirements, although a reasonable level of numeracy and literacy is necessary.
 
 

Drawing & Painting

This course does not deliver a qualification. All those who successfully complete will receive a College Certificate.


Key Units

During the course you will have the opportunity to develop skills, expertise and knowledge in the following:

  • Various drawing and painting skills involving many creative techniques 
  • Basic use of materials and equipment 
  • Knowledge of use of pencils, graphite, charcoal, soft pastels, crayons, oil pastels, conté, watercolour and acrylics 
  • Information and demonstration on stretching watercolour paper 
  • Skills in developing themes ie., still life, portrait, natural forms, landscape, perspective and the built environment 
  • Knowledge of line, tone, form, texture and colour mixing 
  • Related knowledge of art history 
  • Health and safety aspects of in the workshop and use of equipment 
  • Course based on enjoyment as much as learning, final project of your choosing where you can have fun and show off your skills in an individual way.
This is a full cost course. No funding available.
