Entry Requirements
You need to be 18 years or above, working in a nursery, day care, child-minding OR similar OR residential special needs settings, in a paid or voluntary capacity, have 6 months childcare experience, a minimum of 2 days or equivalent in the setting, have the owner’s/principal’s/supervisor’s approval to undertake the programme, have achieved GCSE at grade C or above in English and Mathematics (Certificates have to be seen).

You could qualify for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan on this course. This is a QCF work-based qualification through City & Guilds, conferring occupational competency and a licence to practice in an unsupervised capacity in various childcare settings with children aged between 0-5 years, with a knowledge of children up to the age of 7.

The fee shown is the typical cost of the qualification with basic government funding applied. In most cases the student will not pay the full course cost if they are eligible for funding support.

The government funding agencies may pay up to 50% and in some cases 100% of the tuition fee shown. 

The only students to pay full cost are where the course is designated FULL COST (no government funding available for the course) or if the student is 24 or over at the start of a course which is Level 3 or above. (See 24+ Advanced Learning Loans)
