Engineering Level 1 Certificate

This course is designed to familiarise you with the fundamentals of operating machine tools such as lathes, drilling machines and workshop fitting tools. It will provide you with the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in workshop fitting, mechanical and production engineering. It is a combination of classroom and practical workshop.


About the Course

One year full-time course aimed at school leavers with a GCSE profile lower than a D grade

Topics covered on the course will include: 

  • Practical Engineering Workshop
  • Engineering Turning
  • Engineering Fitting
  • Engineering World
You will also learn some generic engineering skills that can apply to many different types of engineering, including, interpreting engineering drawings and engineering marking out. You are expected to work independently on project work away from the college.
