16 – 18 year old students only. There are no formal entry requirements, but those in education will be expected to complete their current learning programme. You will be required to attend an interview or assessment at college to help decide the right course for you
 
 

Environmental Conservation Skills (Foundation Learning Land Based Studies) Entry 3 / Level 1

This course suits young people (aged 16-18) who enjoy learning in an informal, relaxed, practical and fun way and who want to improve their qualifications to go onto further study or work. You should be practically minded and like working outdoors in all weathers. You need to be able to undertake a range of practical tasks including lifting, moving, ground preparation and planting.


About the Course

You may also have the opportunity for some work experience with Sheffield City Council Parks and Countryside.

Staff are highly trained, experienced, supportive and friendly. You will have a tutor to guide you through your course and the College Additional Support team can also help support you. You will learn in a small group of students. You will also have the opportunity to work alongside Rangers, River Stewards and local businesses.

Assessment

Coursework - the course is continually assessed by coursework such as workbooks and practical tasks. 


You will also have to take tests in English, Maths and IT.


Where does this Lead

You will work towards English, Maths and IT qualifications and a Work Preparation Certificate in Land- based Industries at Entry Level 3 or Level 1.
