Floristry apprentices are based with an employer 4 days a week and attend college 1 day a week on a day release basis for knowledge, portfolio building and assessments.
The college has links with floristry employers and will try to place apprentices in employment, however this cannot be guaranteed so we advise applicants to look for their own employer.
On this unit based course you will learn how to:
5 GCSEs at A*-C grades (or acceptable alternatives) including English Language and Maths.
The course is assessed by the gathering of work-based evidence into a portfolio. In addition to a portfolio assessment you will undertake on-going practical assessments.
Successful students continuing in employment can progress onto a Higher Apprenticeship or into employment.
Staff and Facilities:
At The Sheffield College's Hillsborough Campus you will learn from staff with a range of floristry qualifications and floral industry backgrounds. There are excellent practical facilities available for Floristry and Horticultural courses.
