The Level 1 qualification is the first step towards your career in catering. Designed for people who wish to work as chefs in the catering industry, the course will ensure you develop basic culinary skills and become familiar with industrial equipment This course is suitable for people currently working in the sector and looking to enhance their skills or those wishing to change career.


Please note that this course is not suitable for people wanting to learn home cooking skills, we are able to offer suitable short courses in cookery and bakery for leisure.

Through this course you will develop a practical and theoretical understanding of food commodities, food preparation and cookery methods. You will develop your skills around different foods which will include meat and poultry, fish, sauces, vegetables and some basic pastry work.
