Furniture Making NCFE Level 3

This flexible course, aimed at anyone with an interest in furniture making and design, is taught in a safe and friendly workshop environment which is well equipped with hand tools and machines.

About the Course

The learner will be able to develop skills learnt in level two and design and make a piece of furniture using hand tools, power tools and machinery. This course is very flexible and can be adapted to suit each individual learner. There will be opportunity to use more advanced furniture making techniques such lamination and veneers. 

The course also includes methods of setting up in business, costings and planning.

Unit 1: Exploring a Commercial Craft Brief
Unit 2: Craft Techniques, Materials & Tools
Unit 3: Producing Craft Work in Response to a Commercial Brief

Completed Furniture Making NCFE Level 1 or 2


Practical Assessment.

Where does this Lead

Learners can progress to the City & Guilds Furniture Diploma Level 2 or go on to work in the furniture industry.

Students will be taught by Anna Childs. Anna has an MA in Design with 25 year’s experience in furniture making and design.  Anna Childs runs her own furniture making business in Sheffield City Centre
