The Level 2 Ladies Hairdressing qualification is the first stage of our professional Hairdressing programme. This course is designed for people who wish to develop their skills in this sector.
You will study the following core and specialist units:
Applicants MUST have a GCSE grade D in English Language OR Level 1 equivalent in literacy. ESL learners should have achieved Level 1 in all 4 elements – speaking, listening, reading and writing. You will be asked to produce the evidence of the appropriate qualification. The ideal candidate will be a good communicator and listener with excellent social skills, demonstrate a degree of artistic skills and flair, be highly dexterous and have a good personality and physical stamina. A substantial percentage of the course will be delivered online, therefore good computer skills are also an essential requirement.
This will compromise of both Practical assessment & exams – internal online exams will be taken periodically throughout the course. Pass rate for each exam taken is 60%. Practical skills will be assessed after training and practice, competence of practical skills will be demonstrated by graded summative assessments. You will be required to work on real clients.
Successful students progress onto NVQ level 3 or an Advanced Apprenticeship in Hairdressing.
A voluntary/paid work placement within a Hairdressing Salon is advantageous and recommended.
You will need to purchase a professional uniform and kit. Order forms will be supplied on your first day.
