Learn the basics of designing a garden, including plant identification, the planning process and design elements such as boundaries and landscaping.


About the Course

This course is aimed at people who would like to get a basic understanding of the processes involved with designing and planning a garden.




Key Units

 The theory will be backed up by presentations and real life examples. There will also be practical aspects of the course which include a site survey with sketching a plan, analysis and basic technical drawing to scale.


The course will also include:

- Plant ID (such as selection of trees, shrubs, hedge plants, climbers and perennials)

- Process of planning a garden

- Design elements (such as structures, boundaries, hard and soft landscaping)

- Design principles
