Entry Requirements
Minimum entry requirements are four GCSE’s at grade C or above which should include Maths and English

Hospitality & Event Management Level 3 Diploma

This course will give you an introduction to the exciting world of the Hospitality industry. You will learn the skills and processes required to prepare you for work in the industry at a supervisory level. After successful completion of the level 3 Diploma you may progress onto our level 3 craft courses specialising in kitchen or patisserie, university or in to employment. The majority of this course is assignment based.


About the Course

You will learn about the range of equipment that is used in the professional creative media production industry and how to use it to produce high quality products to a client brief. You will also learn about the processes that are appropriate to working in a professional media environment such as liaising with clients, communication, planning, teamwork and meeting a deadline.


Key Units

This course will give you an introduction to the exciting world of the Hospitality industry. You will learn the skills and processes required to prepare you for work in the industry at a supervisory level. After successful completion of the level 3 Diploma you may progress onto our level 3 craft courses specialising in kitchen or patisserie, university or in to employment.

The majority of this course is assignment based. You will spend some time doing practical activities in the kitchens and restaurant to develop your basic cookery and food service skills. You will be preparing and serving food for the college restaurants and experiencing a realistic working environment .

The majority of your learning will be classroom based covering areas such as Events Management, Customer Service, Finance, Alcoholic Beverages, Personal Selling and European Food. The Food Safety Level 2 certificate is also included within the course. You will also gain experience in outside events and develop links with industry. 


The catering department has exceptional facilities with several well equipped kitchens, a bakery and a 60 seat, licensed public restaurant.

The College has an excellent reputation within the industry with our students benefiting by taking part in extracurricular events such as the ‘Tour de France’, Master Chefs Luncheons, Skills for Chefs Conference, as well as competitions and industry visits.

Where does this Lead

You could progress to the one year full-time Chef’s Diploma Course, management training programmes within the industry or apply to university to study for a degree in Hospitality or Event management.
