JB's School of the Entertainment Industries Level 3 Extended Diploma

This course was designed by JB Gill from boyband JLS. Behind successful talent and performers is a whole host of PR teams, assistants, agents and managers. You could be the next generation of aspiring Hollywood agents and music tycoons.


About the Course

JB’s School of the Entertainment Industries offers you the chance to learn the skills, develop the knowledge and build up the experience to have careers as agents, managers, publicists and businesspeople in the entertainment industries.

The course is designed for those with a passion for the music and entertainment industry and who aspire to be successful in the business and management side of the sector. Your enthusiasm and drive to be successful in the industry is your biggest asset!


Key Units

The units of study include:

 
  • Promoting an Artist
  • Contract Negotiation
  • Publishing and Copyrights
  • Press and Journalism
  • Managing Artists’ Finances among others. 

What else will I gain?

The course will include an “Industry Week” which will have a variety of master-classes from experts in the sector and will provide you with opportunity to network with experienced entertainment industry professionals.

We also take you to a conference on the entertainment and media industries which takes place in Disneyland Paris in February / March each year. The cost is approximately £300 per person (this includes travel, hotel, breakfast, entrance to the conference and theme park tickets) plus spending money.

Assessment

All units are assessed through practical assignments and coursework.


Where does this Lead

The entertainment industries are growing, and employment opportunities are strong. Employment for the backstage and business services is impressive, for every dancer and singer, there will be a manager or agent negotiating contracts, arranging payments and promoting the talent. Higher education opportunities are also available for general business and management degrees or specific entertainment industry programmes.
