Legal Higher Diploma in Law CILEX L6

The CILEx level 6 units form the last academic stage needed to become a Chartered Legal Executive. The College has a September and January intake leading to external examinations in the unitised offer. This is a full cost course (no public funding available). Please note: the cost of examinations and professional registration is additional to the course fees.

About the Course

The CILEx Level 6 Higher Diploma forms the last academic stage needed to become a Chartered Legal Executive. You can enrol on the full Diploma, or enrol on individual units in the unitised offer (see separate course descriptions for the individual units). Please note: the cost of professional registration is additional to the course fees but do include a first attempt at the examinations.

The Level 6 CILEx qualifications form the last academic stage which needs to be completed to become a Chartered Legal Executive. The Level 6 programme also enables students to achieve a recognised national qualification in an individual subject of law, legal practice or legal skills.

Key Units

There are many CILEx units from which to choose, but Sheffield City College Higher Diploma provision for the first year includes the following CILEx units. All students enrolling on the full Higher Diploma complete the following units in the first year:

Unit 23: Legal Research (Sept-June)

There will then be the opportunity to specialise in several practice areas in Year 2, including civil litigation, family practice and conveyancing.

Entry Requirements
