We have a proven track record in delivering this qualification over many years, to our own full time students and to apprentices currently working in the Manufacturing Industry. This is the day release delivery option which allows access to the course on a 1 day a week basis over 2 years, making it very attractive for students who cannot commit to a full time delivery model or who aren’t apprentices. All of the lecturers delivering the course are highly qualified and trained, and have many years industrial experience and they are all committed to giving you a great experience and helping achieve success.
It is a Level 3 BTEC course (now named Pearson) and has all the rigour associated with such courses. It is aimed at people who would like to study at this level but aren’t able to commit to a full time course, for instance people already working in the industry who may have the facility to commit to 1 day a week in pursuance of a Level 3 Qualification. You will need to be dedicated to your studies and committed to working hard to achieve success, the course is very demanding. You will need to bring your own pens, paper, folders, and course text books are always useful for reference and for helping you with assignments.
Units covered include Maths, Mechanical Principles (Science), Electronics, Materials, Communications, Primary Forming Processes, Communications, Health & Safety, Secondary Processes and CAD.
Students will gain much knowledge and understanding of many aspects of Engineering Manufacture and will be in a good position for further study at a higher level, HNC, HND, Degree.
5 Grade C's including Maths and Science are the normal entry requirements.
Assessment is mainly by assignment. Lessons are intensive and because of this, good attendance and punctuality is a must.
