The course is aimed primarily at technician engineers who are currently employed or seeking employment in the mechanical manufacturing or engineering industries.
Pearson Edexcel BTEC Higher Nationals are designed to provide specialist National Occupational Standards. The development of this qualification was informed by discussions/relevant publications from the Engineering Council UK (EC(UK)) and the Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies Alliance (SEMTA). They offer a strong, sector-related emphasis on practical skills development alongside the development of requisite knowledge and understanding.
You will study the following modules on this course -
BTEC National Certificate in a relevant discipline, OR an A Level in Maths or Science. Applicants with the necessary experience and/or other qualifications may be accepted. All applicants who are non-native English speakers or who have not studied the final two years of school in English must have an IELTS score of level 5.5 or above with a minimum of 5.0 for individual sections.
Progression can be to HND or degree study or to relevant employment.
Mode of Attendance:
Full-time, over one year at Technology, Engineering Design at The Sheffield College.
