This Level 3 qualification covers preparation and application procedures and the diagnosis and rectifying of paint faults, carrying out complete refinishing operations, mixing and matching paint colours and identifying and rectifying paint defects and faults.
This course provides essential knowledge for vehicle body and paint operators working on a wide range of vehicles in all types of garages, dealerships and specialist body and paint businesses. You will also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and other skills associated with working in a garage.
The course is approximately 50% theory and 50% practical. Theory lessons covering the required technology are classroom based, giving you the opportunity for taking notes to aid your studies. Practical lessons take place in the motor vehicle workshops and give you the opportunity to develop the skills needed to pass the assessments.
Level 2 Motor Vehicle Body and Paint and a minimum of Level 1 Functional Skills.
Practical Assessment and Coursework.
You will need to bring your own overalls and safety boots for workshop sessions; all other safety equipment will be provided.
