Motor Vehicle Body & Paint Level 3 Diploma

This level 3 qualification covers preparation and application procedures and the diagnosis and rectifying of paint faults, carrying out complete refinishing operations, mixing and matching paint colours and identifying and rectifying paint defects and faults.


About the Course

It provides essential knowledge for vehicle body and paint operators working on a wide range of vehicles in all types of garages, dealerships and specialist body and paint businesses. You will also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and other skills associated with working in a garage.


Key Units

Theory lessons covering the required technology are classroom based, giving you the opportunity for taking notes to aid your studies. Practical lessons take place in the motor vehicle workshops and give you the opportunity to develop the skills needed to pass the assessments.


You will need to bring your own overalls and safety boots for workshop sessions; all other safety equipment will be provided. You need to attend regularly and be on time for every lesson. 

Functional Skills lessons also form an important part of your course. They include maths, English and ICT to help improve your skills in these areas. The course is approximately 50% theory and 50% practical. Your progress will be reviewed regularly in tutorial sessions.
