Course Structure/Aims:

The course provides opportunities for learners to obtain a recognised teaching qualification and progression towards Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status in the Post 16/Further Education sector.

This qualification equips individuals with knowledge, understanding and skills for successful employment in teaching in the Post 16 and Further Education sector.

The L7 course enables progression to Masters level study.

On successful completion of the course students will be able to continue their professional development in order to claim QTLS via The Education and Training Foundation (ETF).

Assessment

You will be assessed using a number of different methods. This will include written assignments, reflective practice and observations. You will undergo four formal observations each year. 


Where does this Lead

The PGCE/Cert Ed is a professional qualification designed for people who wish to teach in a post 16 and Further Education context. You will therefore be equipped and qualified for a teaching role in a suitable organisation.

Part time – 1 day per week. 6 hours per week. 180 contact hours per year, 60 teaching hours per year.
