The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy has been designed to provide students with the prerequisite knowledge, understanding and skills to work in an unsupervised capacity as a sports massage practitioner with dysfunctional tissue, enabling a successful learner to start up their own business or join an already established practice.
Candidates must be aged 16 for assessment. An appropriate level of fitness to carry out a sports massage and an interest in fitness and/or sport. It is recommended by the awarding body that applicants complete the level 3 in Swedish Body Massage prior to them starting this sports massage programme. Candidates who meet the course entry requirements can enrol online. Alternatively, you can complete an application form and attend the next part time enrolment session.
Practical Assessment and Exams.
On completion of the course you are able to gain professional body recognition with the Sports Massage Association (SMA). The common progression route is becoming a sports massage practitioner, however other suitable progression routes are: Level 4 and 5 VTCT qualifications in sport massage or Foundation Degrees and Degrees in Sports Therapy.
Attendance: 2 evenings per week at The Sheffield College - City Campus (3 hour sessions) - Tuesday and Thursday: 6pm - 9pm
