This course is suitable for students wishing to pursue a career in travel and tourism. It is both practical and theoretical and includes a residential trip and integrated educational visits.
Although much of the course is classroom-based, opportunities to learn outside the classroom are maximised whenever possible.
4 GCSEs at A* - C or acceptable alternatives, must include English Language.
You may wish to continue your education and progress to a degree in Travel and Tourism or other business-linked courses or alternatively employment in, for example, a UK travel agency or overseas work in holiday resorts.
Will this course suit me?
An ideal student for this course will be outgoing, energetic and highly motivated with a keen interest in travel and tourism.
You are expected to take part in compulsory trips and visits including a one week overseas residential to investigate the impacts of tourism on a destination. Day visits take place to popular UK destinations. Compulsory trips and visits will cost approximately £200 in Year 1 and £400 in Year 2.
