Focussing on getting you a job after graduating, the Foundation Degree in Legal Practice has been designed to equip you with the skills and legal knowledge that are highly sought after by law employers to reflect the changing landscape of law. You will study a range of practice areas as well as developing wider skills in:

  • negotiation skills

Become a specialist during a year-long placement at a law firm

Throughout the second year of the degree, you will spend 1 day a week completing an internship at a law firm in your chosen legal practical area. You will complete the internship alongside your studies by applying the wider legal knowledge you have learnt in the first year of the degree.

Wide range of future opportunities and career options

Upon completing the Foundation Degree in Legal Practice you will have a number of career opportunities available to you. As you look to specialise and hone in on a job role, you can study:

  • Level 6 CILEx qualification in Law & Practice (equivalent to an honours degree and the final stage of becoming a Chartered Legal Executive Lawyer)
  • Level 6 Chartered Legal Executive Apprenticeship
  • Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship
