About this Course

This is an intermediate vocational qualification which focuses on the underlying principles and practices of Beauty Therapy.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs grades A* - D / grade 3 or above (or acceptable alternatives); including English Language.


The course is assessed entirely by coursework therefore students need to have good time management skills and be able to work to targets and deadlines. Practical assessments will be carried out in the salon following training and practice.

Where does this Lead

You could progress onto the Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy or specialise in Spa treatments or Complementary Therapies.

Will this course suit me?
Beauty therapists work in close contact with clients from different age groups and backgrounds. Good social and interpersonal skills, discretion and respect for others are important characteristics. You will also need to have physical stamina as you are often on your feet all day.

Extra Costs

You will be asked to purchase a uniform which must be worn at all times when in the salon. You will also need to have some key pieces of equipment that will be discussed when you come to the transition event.
