About this Course

This programme will provide students with a challenging and engaging experience that will develop the essential skills, knowledge and behaviour required for a successful working career in the business sector. Students will study a range of units, from marketing and business planning to HR management.

Semester 1

  • Marketing Essentials (15 credits)
  • Human Resource Management (15 credits)
  • Management Accounting (15 credits)
  • Business Law (15 credits)
Semester 2
  • Business and the Business Environment (15 credits)
  • Managing a Successful Business Project (15 credits)
  • Management and Operations (15 credits)
  • Financial Accounting (15 credits)

Entry Requirements

A minimum of 48 (preferably 64) UCAS points from one of the following:

  • A Levels (to include a business subject)
  • BTEC Extended Diploma in Business
  • Access to HE Diploma in Business
  • Level 3 Diploma from the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM)

GCSE Maths and English Language at grade C/4 or above are also required.

International students should have equivalent qualifications listed in UCAS and an IELTS score of 6.0.

Exceptionally, mature students will be considered on their work experience*, which must be at a supervisory level.

*Applicants are expected to have part-time employment, significant voluntary work or their own business.

Assessment

You will be assessed using a variety of techniques, including assignments, exams, presentations and group work. This will allow you to experience different pressures and learn to respond to varied challenges. 

Where does this Lead

Upon successful completion, students can progress to the second year Higher National Diploma and then the BA (Hons) Management (Business) Top-up.
