About this Course

If you want to work for a wildlife trust, country park or country estate the Environmental Conservation programme could be the one for you. This course will develop your knowledge, practical and technical skills to work within this sector of the land-based industry.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs grades A* - D / grade 3 or above (or acceptable alternatives) including English Language.

Assessment

The course is assessed by the gathering of work-based evidence into a portfolio. In addition to a portfolio assessment you will undertake short written tests and on-going practical assessments.

Successful students finding employment could progress onto our Environmental Conservation or Horticulture Apprenticeship programme.

Will the course suit me?
This course is suitable for those who wish to gain an environmental conservation qualification and develop their careers within the industry. You will need to be practically minded, like working outdoors in all seasons and able to undertake a range of tasks including lifting and moving, ground preparation and planting. You also need to be prepared to do some study in your own time.

Qualification Title
City and Guilds Level 2 (0070) in Environmental Conservation.

For students moving into suitable employment this qualification can also form part of the Apprenticeship Framework for Environmental Conservation.
