About this Course

This is a practical and work-related business course. You will learn all about the exciting world of business and have the opportunity to apply your learning in a practical and realistic way. Throughout your course you will develop a wide range of skills, working practices and thought processes, including IT skills, presentation skills, independent learning skills, team work and leadership skills.

You will develop your knowledge of and gain broad business experience in:
  • The world of business and everything that influences what businesses do
  • How businesses are organised and their aims and objectives
  • How businesses manage and organise their finances and staff
  • How to set up and run a business
  • How retail outlets use merchandise and sell their products
  • Selling skills
  • Creating financial documents including balance sheets

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs grades A* - D / grade 3 or above (or acceptable alternatives) - these must include English Language and/or Maths at grade 4. 

Assessment

A mixture of practical and written assignments, with 2 externally assessed units. 

Where does this Lead

You can progress to the Level 3 Business course or an appropriate alternative within The Sheffield College.

You might also choose to consider undertaking an apprenticeship or work experience.
