About this Course

This programme is designed for new entrants to the industry aged 19+, providing them with basic skills and experience. This City & Guilds qualification is designed for those who wish to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the electro-technology sector. It can be used as a foundation to progress onto further qualifications which lead to becoming a fully qualified electrician. The course is a mixture of on-site delivery, 1 evening per week and online independent study. Learners will study the theory modules at home and come into college to complete the practical units and exams.

  • Installation of wiring systems and enclosures
  • Understand how to communicate with others within building services engineering

Entry Requirements

This programme is suitable for learners aged 19+.


There are no minimum qualifications although a reasonable level of English and maths is expected.

Assessment

Online and practical assessments.

Where does this Lead

Students who successfully complete this qualification may wish to progress on to the Level 3 Diploma/NVQ in Electrical Installation.


Future Opportunities

This Level 2 qualification will suit you if you want to learn the basics of electro-technical principles and practice to help start off your career.
