Our Open Days are designed to let you experience what being a student at The Sheffield College is like and to help you plan your career journey. Our upcoming sector-based Open Days start January 2024 and you can book your tickets below!

Sector-Specific Open Days

In 2024, our Sector Open Days will provide you with an opportuntiy to get a more in-depth look at the study programmes available in your chosen industry or field.

At our Sector Open Days, you will be able to:

  • take part in interactive taster sessions in the career you're aiming for
  • get advice from our award-winning Careers Team on how to achieve those careers
  • watch live lessons, demonstrations and workshops
  • talk to the people who will be teaching you and find out more about our qualifications
  • view work by our current students
  • tour our fantastic facilities
  • make an application with application support
  • find out more about how we can support you during your studies

Events will run from 4pm-6pm and will cover all levels of study including study programmes for school leavers, Apprenticeships, Access to University, Adult courses, and University Level, with the exception of the Sixth Form Open Day.

What to expect at an Open Day

Our Open Days are the best way to get a real taste of college life and find out more about which study programme or Apprenticeship is right for you.

At each event, you will have the opportunity to:

  • tour our campuses - explore communal areas such as our libraries, refectories, coffee shops and break-out spaces
  • find out about our new T Level qualification offer. T Levels are a brand new 2-year qualification that mix classroom learning and industry experience in order to give you the skills and knowledge to help you progress into your dream career - click here for more information
  • check out the facilities you will be learning in, including our professional standard theatre and drama studios, art and design workshops, animal grooming salons, industry-standard kitchens and TV studio just to name a few
  • meet your future tutors - ask them about the study programmes you're interested in and the typical entry requirements you will need
  • see the type of work you will be doing on your study programme and meet some of our current students
  • get more information about our different study options - figure out whether a full-time study programme or Apprenticeship is the right approach for you
  • access support with your maths and English qualifications
  • speak to our in-house Careers Team - if you've got a career in mind, but aren't sure how to get there, our Careers Team can help you figure out the best steps

Also available on the night:

  • submit an application with support from our Admissions Team
  • find out about the support we provide all of our students with
  • check whether you may be eligible for financial support
  • meet our SEND Team and speak to them about any additional support needs you may have

Each event will cover all levels of study, including A Levels, T Levels, Adult, Access to University Level, Apprenticeships, Study Programmes for School Leavers and University Level.
