About this Course

The course is aimed primarily at technician engineers who are currently employed or seeking employment in the mechanical manufacturing or engineering industries.

Entry Requirements

  • BTEC Level 3 in Manufacturing Engineering to include the following units: Maths, Further Maths, Mechanical Principles & Further Mechanical Principles
  • A Levels in Maths & Science
  • Industrial experience in a relevant manufacturing engineering role
All applicants who are non-native English speakers or who have not studied the final two years of school in English must have an IELTS score of 5.5 or above, with a minimum score of 5.0 for individual sections.

Assessment

Assessment of coursework will be by internally wrote assignments and completed coursework.


Students will be expected to carry out extensive research in order to complete set assignments.

Assignments are externally moderated by the awarding body.

Where does this Lead

Progression can be to the HND in Manufacturing Engineering or degree study or to relevant employment.

Future Opportunities

Students will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to pursue a career, or develop an existing one, within the engineering sector.

Extra Costs

The engineering department try to run engineering field trips each year, designed to enhance and embed student learning. These trips will be at an additional cost to the student, however attendance is not a mandatory part of the course.
