You will have the opportunity to work with different musicians across a variety of musical styles and will develop your skills and creativity through live performances at a variety of performance venues across the city.
4 GCSEs grades A* - D / grade 3 or above (or acceptable alternatives), to include English Language.
The course is assessed through coursework therefore students need to have good time management skills and be able to work to deadlines. Coursework includes practical group and solo performances, presentations and written assignments.
The high level of satisfaction of students taking this course is reflected in the number who choose to progress with us to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music and then the foundation degree/BA Hons degree in Music.

Will the course suit me?
An ideal student for this course is one who is keen, motivated, open minded about musical styles and is willing and comfortable about performing both on their own and with others to an audience.
Students will be required to pay a £35 studio fee at the start of the course to cover materials, consumables and performance/gig costs. Those in financial hardship may be eligible to apply for financial assistance from the college’s Student Support Fund.
