This is a popular music course covering a variety of genres from 1950 to the present day. You have the opportunity to study across a variety of musical disciplines and develop practical skills in performance, composition, sequencing, recording and improvisation.
5 GCSEs grades A* - C / grade 4 or above (or acceptable alternatives), must include English Language and Music.
There is ongoing assessment through course work and assignments.
Students typically progress to the music degree course at the college or a music school.

Will the course suit me?
An ideal student for this course is one who is keen, motivated, open minded about musical styles and is willing and comfortable about performing both on their own and with others to an audience.
Students will be required to pay a £35 studio fee at the start of the course to cover materials, consumables and performance/gig costs. Students in financial hardship may be eligible to apply for financial support from the college's Student Support Fund.
