NextGen Games, Animation and Visual Effects Employer Skills Academy

The NextGen Games, Animation and VFX Employer Skills Academy was launch in October 2020. The academy is based at our Hillsborough Campus and supports students Level 3 to Level 6 who are studying Games, Animation and VFX Skills as well as Creative Digital Practice. The NextGen academy provides the students with specialist opportunities, allowing them to develop their knowledge and skills within the creative industry.

About NextGen Games, Animation and Visual Effects Employer Skills Academy

The NextGen Games, Animation and VFX Employer Skills Academy students are able to enhance their professional skills and knowledge, by taking part in specialist masterclasses and workshops with representatives from NextGen and their stakeholders.

These masterclasses include bespoke workshops such as:

  • Lighting for VFX Masterclass with David Watson of Framestore
  • 'How to Pitch Your Game Masterclass' with Stephen Hey of EA, Chillingo and Merge Games
  • 'Ada' Film Showing and 'Making of' with Tom Box and Dane Winn of Blue Zoo Animation
  • Shooting Video for VFX with Jahirul Amin of CAVE Academy
  • VFX for Games with Peter Clark and Jacob Habgood of Sumo Digital

Alongside the opportunities presented to our students, all NextGen tutors are invited to a series of industry-led CPD opportunities each academic year, to ensure the quality of teaching remains to be of first class.
