Recruitment for the WANdisco Data Academy will take place every two years.
In order to secure their place in the WANdisco Data Academy, applicants undergo a rigorous selection process, including a college and employer interview, as well as a selection day at the WANdisco premises. The WANdisco academy provides the opportunity for its academy students to take part in WANdisco led masterclasses from various members of the team, including those who are based in offices worldwide.
As part of the programme, there is an opportunity for two academy students to take part in an industry placement. This provides students with 315 hours of industry experience, in various aspects of the business, that they can then use for future applications. The students are selected on merit and will undergo further interviews in order to take part in this opportunity.
Students in the WANdisco academy also take part in projects set by the employer, including recently, the Laptops for Kids campaign. By providing projects, this allows all of the WANdisco academy students to gain hands-on experience and learn from industry experts.
Upon completion of the course, the WANdisco academy students will receive a reference from WANdisco, as well as a mock interview.
Laptops for All
Following the success of the Laptops for Kids campaign, we're delighted to announce The Sheffield College's support of the Laptops for All campaign, a new drive to deliver essential access to the internet for disadvantaged households.
Six per cent of UK households remain offline, making it difficult to take part in activities including education, employment and healthcare or even stay in touch with friends and family.
To help support the campaign The Sheffield College campuses will continue to act as drop-off points for donated devices, which will then be securely erased by our WANdisco Data Academy students under the guidance of IT experts, ready for distribution to those in need.
