Whilst the majority of students on higher education programmes fund their study through The Student Loan Company, we can offer additional support to some students from under-represented groups.

Eligibility criteria is taken from the college's Access and Participation Plan and eligible students will be contacted directly about the support on offer.

Higher Education Student Support Fund

What can I get support with?

You could get support for a variety of expenses associated with your university level study, including:

  • Living costs
  • Travel costs too and from college
  • Course resources e.g. books, specialist equipment
  • Trips, visits or residential programmes

How much could I get?

Eligible students will receive £75 per term.

Who's eligible?

There is no age restriction, and the application process is open to any student enrolled on a higher education course who meets the criteria laid out in the college's Higher Education Access and Participation Plan.

Disabled Students' Allowances

Disabled Students' Allowances (DSAs) are designed to help with extra costs you may face as a direct result of studying with a disability, a long-term illness, a mental health condition, a specific learning difficulty like dyslexia or an autistic spectrum condition such as Asperger's syndrome.

You can use DSAs to support you with things like specialist equipment, travel costs or non-medical helpers. Please click on the link above for more information, eligibility criteria and how to apply.
