Here's what to do if you want to go to uni this September but you didn't manage to get your application in before the UCAS deadline.
1. Don’t panic!
Although the UCAS Equal Consideration deadline has passed, it’s not actually too late to send in an application.
The equal consideration deadline means course providers must consider all applications received by the end of January fairly (in other words not just filling up their courses on a first-come, first served basis), but it doesn't stop you applying altogether.
Luckily, universities can and do accept applications after this deadline, but the earlier you apply the better your chances of getting an offer will be.
2. Finish your application
If you haven’t finished your UCAS application (or even started one!) then now’s the time to do so.
Make sure you’ve added all of your personal details, selected your five choices (you can view all of our courses at the bottom of this page!) and written your personal statement.
3. Talk to someone
If you’ve fallen behind on your application or have only just decided that you want to go to uni, it might be a good idea to speak to your Tutorial Mentor or a Careers Advisor so that they can give you some advice on your next steps.
It could be a good idea as well to speak to the university or college you’re applying to in case they have a specific approach for late submissions.
4. Consider applying direct
In some cases, you may be able to apply direct to the university or college you want to attend.
For example, if you are already a student at The Sheffield College and only want to apply for a programme at UC Sheffield then you can do so directly, without having to go through the UCAS system.
5. Visit our Open Day
