Our BA (hons) Top up degree is validated by Sheffield Hallam University. It has been specially designed for students who wish to pursue a career within the computer games industry, and to build on the skills which they have developed at level 4 and 5. The course is mainly based around the artistic elements of games design and development, with some group projects and solo projects. We also help to prepare you for a life in the industry by providing an insight into the professional practice of games design through practical demonstration, research and theory-based study. Students are encouraged to explore a variety of sources and subjects that influence their development as well as experiencing a range of teaching methods such as formal lectures, team teaching, practical demonstrations and tutorials that further enhance their learning experience.
Aimed at students who have previously studied performing arts disciplines such as drama, dance or music production/performance, this one year full time course will allow you to further develop your skills in a specific area, whilst also giving you a good overview of the industry. In the first semester you will work with other students on the same pathway to develop your team work abilities, before going on to hone your performance skills in the Final Major Project during the second semester.
