About this Course

This exciting new course allows students who have completed a Foundation Degree to top-up to a full Bachelor's Degree over one year. You will study the key elements of business/events management and take elective modules to specialise in Events Management.

Key Units

Semester 1

  • Strategic International Management (20 credits)
  • International Marketing (20 credits)
  • Minor Project (20 credits)

Semester 2

  • Creativity and Enterprise in Events (20 credits)
  • Major Project (40 credits)

Formal methods of teaching will include lectures, seminars, tutorials and workshops. This work will be enhanced by access to the wider range of technological and support facilities available within the college, and from external speakers.

In addition, active/participative learning will cover simulation, role play, presentations, case studies, project work, practical activities, visits and workshops, all of which will build upon the experience and practice of the student, and afford opportunities for self-reflection. 

Entry Requirements

  • Foundation Degree or equivalent Level 5 qualification in a relevant subject
  • Grade C/4 or above in GCSE English Language and Maths (or equivalent)
In addition, applicants should be able to demonstrate a genuine interest and passion for their subject; along with motivation, confidence and creativity.

Mature applicants will be considered on an individual basis and references, experience and skills will be taken into consideration.

Applicants who are non-native English speakers, or who have not studied the final two years of school in English must have an IELTS score of 6, with a minimum score of 5.5 in all skill areas.

Where does this Lead

The course also aims to equip students for further academic study, so you would be well placed to progress onto a Masters level course at higher education institutions offering research/taught degree programmes.
