IT and Digital Skills Level 1

This course has been designed to introduce the exciting fields of IT and Computing. We have excellent facilities and opportunities for work experience at leading companies. The course features several trips out to companies and visiting speakers will come in and discuss live projects.

T Level Foundation Digital
If you want to study one of our IT and Computing T Levels but aren’t sure that you'll get the entry requirements at school, then we have the perfect option for you. When you study a T Level Foundation Year, you will:
  • develop your technical knowledge, practical skills, study skills and English and Maths
  • build your work experience
  • receive support tailored to you, your chosen T Level and future career path
T Level in Digital Infrastructure
On this T Level you will discover how to secure computer networks from hardware and software vulnerabilities and threats from organised hacking. You'll learn how digital skills are fundamental to businesses, digital infrastructure, and networking, before progressing to specialist technologies.

T Level in Digital Production
On this T Level you will develop knowledge and understanding in a broad range of topics such as programming, coding, the use of data and different platforms of delivery. This is a fast moving and cutting-edge subject, where you’ll learn how to analyse problems and identify solutions through computer programs.

Entry Requirements

IT and Digital Skills Level 1

4 GCSEs at grade 2 or above to include English Language and Maths

T Level Foundation Digital
4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above to include English Language or Maths at grade 4

T Level in Digital Infrastructure
5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above to include English Language and Maths

T Level in Digital Production
5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above to include English Language and Maths

Assessment

IT and Digital Skills Level 1

The course is assessed through coursework so therefore you need to have good time management skills and be able to work to targets and deadlines.

T Level Foundation Digital
The course is assessed through coursework so therefore you need to have good time management skills and be able to work to targets and deadlines.

T Level in Digital Infrastructure
Externally assessed exams and project and practical assessments. 80% of the course is classroom-based learning and 20% is a work placement with an employer in the digital sector.

T Level in Digital Production
Externally assessed exams and project and practical assessments. 80% of the course is classroom-based learning and 20% is a work placement with an employer in the digital sector.
