This qualification has been designed for the IT practitioner across themes predominant in the IT industry. The Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation will equip students with a deeper understanding of electrical science and how this applies to electrical installations and wiring systems. You will also start to prepare for work in the industry by developing your professional communication skills, with a view to progressing on to a Level 3 Diploma or NVQ, or perhaps an Apprenticeship.
Building on the skills you have learned at Level 1 and 2, this course can help you to further develop the competencies and knowledge you need to work in the electrical installation industry. You will study advanced techniques and delve deeper into the theory behind them. Whilst this qualification alone will not make you a qualified Electrician, many students go on to complete an apprenticeship or NVQ alongside employment.
The Level 1 Engineering programme is a one-year course that provides the knowledge, understanding and skills for learners wishing to enter a career in the areas of Production or Manufacturing Engineering. It also provides a progression route to higher education qualifications such as EAL Level 2 Diploma in Engineering and part-time courses in Engineering (Apprenticeships). This course is designed to familiarise you with the fundamentals of operating machine tools such as lathes, drilling machines and workshop fitting tools. It will provide you with the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in workshop fitting, mechanical and production engineering. It is a combination of classroom study and practical workshop.
On this one-year, full-time qualification, you will have the opportunity to learn about the design, development, manufacture and maintenance of engineering products and systems. It is largely classroom-based with one two-hour practical workshop event per week. This qualification will help develop your engineering skills to keep up with rapidly developing technologies. It will give you the knowledge and skills you will need to meet the needs of modern engineering industries.
