Blessing Mukolu
The Sheffield Sixth Form Student of the Year
Here's why Blessing was nominated by their tutor:
"Blessing arrived from Nigeria with her family too late to start A levels immediately. She took advantage of the gap year to study a level 2 health and social care course. This helped her become more familiar with the UK education system.
Blessing is pleasant and personable student who works well with others and is a popular member of the class. She is good in teamwork and practical activities making a positive contribution. Blessing is helpful and has assisted by talking to potential students at Open Evenings last year. She has also done voluntary charity work as well as working in a part time job.
She is self-motivated, cheerful and conscientious, completing independent work to a high standard while ensuring that she takes on the feedback from her teachers. She actively seeks out answers when unsure of how to address a problem. Blessing takes her studies seriously and has maintained a high attendance record."
