Here's why Isabelle was nominated by their tutor:

"Isabelle joined the college after relocating from Gibraltar, and like many students experiencing a significant transition, she initially found it challenging to settle into a new environment, both academically and socially. Despite this, Isabelle demonstrated remarkable determination and maturity in overcoming these early barriers. She has embraced every opportunity to develop, showing real resilience and commitment to her studies.

Academically, Isabelle’s progress has been outstanding. She is now firmly on track to achieve Distinction grades across all units, with a projected Distinction* overall—an exceptional achievement that reflects her work ethic, focus, and desire to succeed. Her attitude to learning is exemplary; she is organised, motivated, and consistently strives to produce work of the highest standard.

Alongside her academic success, Isabelle has made a significant impact within the women’s basketball programme. She has been a standout performer throughout the season, earning multiple award nominations and Player of the Week recognition, highlighting both her performance level and consistency. She represents the college with professionalism and pride, and her commitment to the team is unwavering.

What truly sets Isabelle apart, however, is her character. She is consistently kind, polite, and respectful, and is highly regarded by both staff and peers. She leads by example in everything she does—whether in the classroom or on the court—and is a positive role model for her classmates and teammates. Isabelle contributes to a supportive and inclusive environment, always willing to help others and celebrate their successes.

In summary, Isabelle Dalmedo embodies everything this award represents: resilience, excellence, dedication, and integrity. Her journey from initially struggling to settle, to excelling both academically and athletically, is a testament to her character and determination. She is a truly deserving candidate for this recognition."
